Qatar Airways resumes flights to Abha in Saudi Arabia

Doha - Mubasher: Qatar Airways announced the arrival of its first flight to Abha International Airport today, Thursday, after resuming its services to the city.
According to a statement issued by the company, the carrier will operate flights to Abha at a rate of two flights per week, making it easier for passengers to reach multiple destinations across the company's growing global network, which includes more than 170 destinations around the world.
By adding Abha to its list of destinations, the number of Saudi cities served by the company’s direct flights has increased to 11, namely: Abha, Al-Ula, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, Neom, Riyadh, Qassim, Tabuk, Taif, and Yanbu.
In this regard, Qatar Airways Group CEO, Badr Mohammed Al Meer, confirmed that resuming flights to Abha in the Asir region makes it the company's 11th destination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
For his part, Hatem Al-Harbi, Head of the Tourism Destinations Sector at the Asir Region Development Authority, said: “The resumption of Qatar Airways flights between Doha and Asir represents an important step in achieving our vision of making Asir a major year-round tourist destination in the Gulf region.”
He added: “This step contributes to achieving our goal of receiving 9.1 million visitors annually to Asir by 2030. This route is not just an air link between the two cities, but rather a gateway to the future of tourism in the region.”
He pointed out that this step is the beginning of a series of measures aimed at transforming Asir into an attractive destination for visitors from all over the world.
