"Food and Drug" warns against a beef pepperoni product due to its contamination with listeria bacteria

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned against the pepperoni product, which is dried beef from the (Country Butcher Boy) brand, “country of origin: the United Arab Emirates”, packaged in 250-gram packages, and has an expiration date of 1/3/2025.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) stated on Friday that laboratory test results proved that the product was contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, which may pose a risk to consumer health, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Authority recommended that consumers avoid consuming this product and dispose of any of it they have, noting that it has taken the necessary measures to withdraw the product from the markets, in addition to taking regulatory measures against the importing company.
The Food and Drug Authority indicated that violating the Food System and its executive regulations may result in imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 years, or a fine of up to 10 million riyals, or both.
She stressed that she will not tolerate any violation that may affect the health of citizens and residents, noting that she is continuing her efforts to ensure the safety of products and take the necessary measures against violators.
