Riyadh - Mubasher: The fourth international ministerial meeting of ministers concerned with mining affairs, held within the framework of the fourth edition of the International Mining Conference, witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources with six countries, in a qualitative step aimed at strengthening international partnerships and developing the mining and minerals sector in the Kingdom.

The agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed on the Saudi side by the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, and the Deputy Minister for Mining Affairs, Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, while on the other side they were signed by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources in the Republic of Djibouti, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Minister of Business and Trade in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Minister of Mines and Mineral Development in the Republic of Zambia; in addition to signing a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Finance in the Federal Republic of Austria, and the Ministries of Economy, Finance, Industrial Sovereignty and Digital in the French Republic, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) today, Tuesday.

The 4th International Ministerial Meeting of Mining Ministers was held today in the capital, Riyadh, as part of the International Mining Conference, a unique global event attended by representatives of 89 countries, including 16 G20 countries, along with 50 official and non-governmental international organizations, commodity trade associations, and senior leaders of the global mining industry. The meeting focused on enhancing international cooperation to produce strategic minerals, and highlighting the enormous potential of the great mining region extending from Africa to West and Central Asia.

The meeting also witnessed the exchange of ideas and experiences between ministers and high-level officials, with the aim of defining the foundations for sustainable development of the minerals industry, and building the necessary capacities to transform the mining sector into a major driver of economic and social development at the regional and global levels.
