Doha, Qatar: The Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) has announced a partnership agreement with the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies to organize the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC), which will be held as part of the ninth edition of DIMDEX, taking place from January 19 to 22 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

The ninth edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026) will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar (may God protect him), and hosted and organized by the Qatar Armed Forces.

The signing ceremony took place at the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies by Brigadier General (Navy) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari, Chairman of the DIMDEX Organising Committee, and Brigadier General (Dr.) Rajih Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Nabit, President of the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies.

The partnership announcement with the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies comes within the framework of cooperation between various departments of the Qatari Armed Forces, with the aim of leveraging their combined expertise and capabilities and contributing to the success of one of the largest events in the maritime defense and security sector.

The Middle East Naval Commanders Conference, held this year under the theme "Defense Diplomacy and Maritime Security Challenges," is a significant forum that brings together thought leaders from around the world to discuss the latest developments in maritime defense and security. The conference will be attended by dignitaries, ministers, ambassadors, chiefs of staff, naval commanders, experts, maritime specialists, and academics.

In this context, Brigadier General (Navy) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari, Chairman of the DIMDEX Organizing Committee, said: “We are proud to sign this agreement with the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies, one of the best academies specializing in military sciences, to organize the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference as part of DIMDEX 2026. Commenting on the signing of the agreement with DIMDEX, Brigadier General (Dr.) Rajeh Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Nabit, President of the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies, stated that the Academy is working to enhance joint cooperation, aiming to develop military academic programs at the national level, organize specialized training workshops, and unify efforts when participating in national events . He also emphasized the Academy's commitment to its societal role by raising awareness of the importance of integration between civil and military institutions, which achieves strategic balance and enhances the strength of the home front, based on the Academy's vision of leadership and excellence.

He added, "Through these initiatives, the Academy seeks to consolidate its position as a leading regional and international institution in the field of postgraduate defense studies, by preparing distinguished military and civilian leaders capable of analyzing security threats, assessing risks, and formulating policies and strategic plans that enhance the nation's security and stability."
