May 12 (Reuters Arabic Sports Service) - Dibba Al-Hisn bid farewell to the UAE Pro League after losing 2-0 to visiting Al-Wahda on Monday.
Facundo Kruszewicz put Al Wahda ahead with a close-range header in the 53rd minute.
Omar Kharbin added the second goal in the 90th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Al Wahda raised its score to 44 points in third place, while Dibba Al-Hisn's score froze at 16 points in the penultimate place, joining Al-Orouba in the second division.
Dibba Al-Hisn is eight points away from safety with two matches remaining until the end of the season.
For the second season in a row, the two promoted teams have been relegated to the Professional League.
In another match, Youssef Niakaté scored a brace to draw Bani Yas 3-3 with its guest Khorfakkan, who missed a penalty kick.
Niakaté scored in the 12th and 38th minutes, and his teammate Lazar Markovic added the third goal in the 58th minute.
Thus, Niakati has contributed to Bani Yas' last eight league goals (scoring seven goals and assisting one), according to statistics from the tournament's website.
Khorfakkan's goals were scored by Kayuki Campos in the 16th minute, Chikena Doumbia with his first touch after coming on as a substitute in the 60th minute, and Tarik Tissoudali from a penalty kick in stoppage time.
Bani Yas is ranked 11th with 26 points, while Khorfakkan is ranked eighth with 33 points.
Shabab Al Ahli were crowned UAE Pro League champions last week and completed the double with a win over Sharjah to win the UAE President's Cup last Friday. They will begin their double celebrations when they visit Al Nasr in Round 24 tomorrow, Tuesday.
