Dubai, UAE: His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received a high-level delegation from Cisco, headed by Dr. Jay Diedrich, Senior Vice President and Global Innovation Officer at Cisco, during GITEX Global 2025. The delegation reviewed ways to enhance cooperation and expand partnerships in digital transformation and the use of the latest artificial intelligence technologies to support the digital infrastructure of Dubai's electricity and water sectors.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Marwan bin Haider, Vice Chairman of the Digital Sector and Group CEO of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA); Eng. Waleed bin Salman, Vice Chairman of the Energy Sector at Digital DEWA; and Mohammed bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub.

During the meeting, HE Saeed Al Tayer highlighted DEWA's most prominent projects in the field of comprehensive digital transformation and the adoption of the latest Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including artificial intelligence. This supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) to consolidate the emirate's position among the top 10 digital economies in the world. It also contributes to achieving the vision of the wise leadership to build a sustainable digital future based on innovation and knowledge, and DEWA's endeavor to become the first service institution based on artificial intelligence in the world.

The meeting also addressed the existing cooperation between DEWA and Cisco, particularly in the digital infrastructure projects implemented by DEWA through Moro Hub, the Integrated Data Center Solutions. Moro Hub relies on Cisco's solutions and products, including servers and networking systems, to operate its cloud platform. Moro Hub is also a certified partner in Cisco's Managed Services Partner Program. The two parties are also working to develop smart monitoring solutions hosted in Moro Hub 's green data centers.

The two sides reviewed a number of the Authority's current IT projects in cooperation with Cisco, most notably the implementation of the Cisco Network Access Control (NAC) system in all Authority buildings after the successful testing phase, the establishment of the Smart Access Network (SDA) after implementing the DNAC platform, the implementation of the data center interconnection project, and the trial of Cisco Umbrella solutions for the network agent.
