Ministry of Municipalities: Remarkable growth in the municipal and residential sectors during 2024

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced its most prominent achievements during 2024, stressing its commitment to improving the quality of life in the Kingdom’s cities and providing an integrated urban environment that meets the aspirations of society, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 .
In its statement, the ministry indicated that the housing and real estate sector achieved remarkable growth, as 70,000 new housing units were offered within 163 fully-fledged projects through the ministry’s executive arm, “NHC” , while the number of housing units delivered amounted to about 23,000 units, achieving an increase of 33% compared to 2023 .
The ministry explained that the “Sakani” program provided various housing solutions to more than 117,000 Saudi families, an increase of 9% over the previous year, while the development housing program contributed to enabling 21,000 families to own housing units, with a growth rate of 24 %.
Regarding financing contracts, the total number of supported contracts for beneficiaries of the “Sakani” program amounted to about 93,000 contracts, with a growth rate of 15% compared to 2023, with a total financial support exceeding 11.9 billion riyals .
In the municipal sector, the ministry revealed the issuance of more than 406,000 licenses through the “Balady” application, including 130,000 commercial licenses and 276,000 construction licenses. In addition, 811,000 health certificates were issued, in addition to 100,000 building compliance certificates .
The Ministry confirmed the continuation of efforts to improve the urban landscape by launching the second phase of the “Bahja” project, which included the implementation of 357 parks and urban interventions, with the aim of increasing green spaces and enhancing the well-being of residents .
In the field of digital solutions, the Ministry used artificial intelligence techniques to address visual distortions, as “Baladi Lens” captured 14 million images, and 1.2 million reports of visual distortions were processed. In addition, about 500,000 people benefited from “Baladi Lifestyle ” services.
The Ministry pointed to a significant growth in the white land fees program, as the real estate supply increased by more than 160 million square meters, and more than 75 million square meters of land were developed, with 2.7 billion riyals allocated to develop infrastructure in more than 100 housing projects .
The Ministry continued to attract investments, offering 14,000 investment opportunities through the “Foras” platform, with a value exceeding 4 billion riyals, stressing the continuation of its efforts to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by improving the quality of services provided to residents and visitors .
