- Brazilian retailer Magazine Luiza MGLU3.SA is going to sell its products on Amazon's AMZN.O e-commerce marketplace in the Latin American country starting this week, the companies said on Monday in a joint statement.

  • The deal includes over 12,000 products from categories such as home appliances, electronics, sports, games and cosmetics.

  • The move is part of Magazine Luiza's goal to accelerate e-commerce sales of durable goods through new channels, while expanding Amazon's assortment of products sold in Brazil.

  • Magazine Luiza's transportation firm Magalog will operate the deliveries.

  • "We believe the initiative could help Magazine Luiza reaccelerate GMV growth while expanding assortment and traffic at a lower execution risk," UBS BB analysts said.

  • The move is the latest commercial partnership between rival retailers in Brazil; previous ones include those between Magazine Luiza and AliExpress, and Amazon and Casas Bahia BHIA3.SA.
