- U.S. agriscience company Corteva CTVA.N on Monday said it is naming the advanced seed and genetics unit it plans to spin off Vylor, replacing the placeholder name "SpinCo".

The spin-off, announced last year, will carve out Corteva's seed and genetics business into a separately listed company as the agrichemicals group sharpens its strategic focus.

  • Corteva expects to complete the spin-off in the last quarter of 2026.

  • Vylor will hold more than 4,000 germplasm patents and over 2,000 biotechnology patents.

  • Chuck Magro, who is set to become Vylor's CEO, said the business would be positioned to help address global food and energy security challenges through scientific innovation.

  • Corteva said the name Vylor is derived from "valor," reflecting the company's agricultural heritage and competitive mindset.

  • Corteva is scheduled to report results for the first quarter on Tuesday.
