US stocks experienced volatility following rumors that the new US tariff policy would be delayed by 90 days.
The speculation stemmed from an interview with White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett, which led to market fluctuations. The White House has not confirmed the rumors, with Hassett stating that the President will make his own decisions.
Previously, hedge fund manager Bill Ackman had urged President Trump to delay the tariffs for 90 days.
As of 10:41 AM, ET (or 05:41 PM in Riyadh), the broad-based S&P 500 INDEX(SPX.US) nosedives by 101 points or 1.99% to 4,973, the tech-heavy NASDAQ(IXIC.US) capitulates by 279 points or 1.79% to 15,309, and the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJI.US) plummets by 941 points or 2.45% to 37,374.

US stocks rebounded with the Nasdaq and S&P 500 indices turning positive at one point, with the tech-heavy NASDAQ(IXIC.US) improving markedly by 4%.
