Abu Dhabi's non-oil GDP grew by 7.7% in the third quarter of 2023 on an annual basis, according to a statement by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on Friday, citing the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi.

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi seeks to expand the non-oil economy base in the GDP as part of the UAE’s plan - an oil-rich country - to diversify sources of income.

The emirate's real GDP grew by 1% during the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, despite lower oil prices.

The non-oil sector contributed about 52.8% of Abu Dhabi's GDP, according to the statement.

nine months

Abu Dhabi's real GDP grew by 2.8% during the first nine months of 2023 on an annual basis compared to the same period of the previous year.

This was driven by the growth of non-oil activities by 8.6% during 9 months of the current year.

Abdullah Ghareeb Al Qamzi, Acting Director General of the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi, said that these statistical figures confirm the emirate's efforts to diversify the economy and expand non-oil activities, according to the statement.
