PRESSR: Dubai Municipality launches Change Management and Institutional Agility System

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Dubai Municipality launched the Change Management and Corporate Agility System during a meeting held in the presence of His Excellency Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and the executive and administrative leadership of the municipality. The new system aims to develop, expand and accelerate the scope of implementation from an integrated 360 perspective, by setting goals for change, drawing a roadmap, and enhancing practices related to corporate agility. The system also aims to launch policies that enhance the level of the work system in the field of change management and corporate agility.

The new system ensures the continuity of Dubai Municipality’s efforts to develop its work areas, and expand the scope of applying institutional agility and change management to include all areas of work, in order to achieve its strategic areas, objectives and vision of “A leading municipality for a global city”, while enhancing its core values of participation, competitiveness, positivity and proactivity.

His Excellency Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, stressed in a speech he delivered during the meeting that the application of agility and change management practices in Dubai Municipality is not a new matter, but rather began since its establishment and continued through continuous efforts and work for many years, resulting in flexibility, solidity and full readiness to face challenges and crises, pointing to the continuation of the implementation of comprehensive development strategies, in line with the standards of the Dubai Strategy for Distinguished Government Performance, in order to improve the quality of performance and implement best practices.

The journey of change and institutional agility

Dubai Municipality leaders reviewed the municipality’s journey in managing change and institutional agility, and the most prominent achievements it has made in this field, in addition to its journey in adopting and following the approach of change and institutional agility, and the speed of response to variables and crises, and the high ability to deal with them efficiently, as one of the most important and largest government agencies in the Emirate of Dubai, working to provide integrated services to make people happy.

Dubai Municipality presented the most important principles of corporate agility, which include: focusing on customers, empowering self-employed teams, embracing change, simplicity and flexibility, measuring results, and cross-functional cooperation.

The municipality also presented a framework and operational model to accelerate and expand the scope of applying the agility idea and practice in all fields to achieve institutional agility, in addition to implementing a group of pilot projects to enhance the experience, learning, development and continuous improvement.

In addition, Dubai Municipality presented its change efforts before 2022, which resulted in change initiatives and projects such as restructuring, Dubai Municipality’s strategic plan 2022-2026, the environmental satellite 2021, and the digital completion of the municipality 2021, in addition to axes related to the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
