Palo Alto Networks Inc. has released its annual "State of Cloud Security Report 2025," highlighting the significant impact of artificial intelligence on the expansion of the cloud attack surface. The report, based on a survey of over 2,800 security executives and practitioners across 10 countries, reveals that 99% of organizations have experienced attacks against AI applications and services in the past year. It underscores that traditional cloud security methods are struggling to keep pace with the rapid adoption of AI, leaving organizations vulnerable to sophisticated threats. The report also notes that siloed workflows and disjointed data between cloud and Security Operations Center (SOC) teams hinder rapid incident resolution, with 30% of teams taking more than a day to resolve issues. A vast majority-89%-believe that full integration of cloud and application security with the SOC is essential. Palo Alto Networks advocates for an end-to-end, agentic-first platform that unifies proactive risk reduction and reactive incident response to protect cloud environments at the speed of AI-driven threats.
