Bain Capital closes $10.5 billion Asia fund
May 17 (Reuters) - U.S. investment firm Bain Capital closed its sixth pan-Asia private equity fund after raising about $10.5 billion, exceeding its $7 billion target, the firm said on Sunday.
Reuters had reported in March that the firm was close to wrapping up fundraising for its Bain Capital Asia Fund VI.
The Boston-headquartered firm said the capital raised included around $9.1 billion of external commitments.
The firm's smooth fundraising underscores strong investor interest in the Asia region, particularly Japan, where the firm has a heavy focus, amid market volatility and geopolitical uncertainties.
The firm, which raised $7.1 billion in its fifth pan-Asia buyout fund in 2023, also has a strong presence in Greater China and India.
