** Shares of oil and gas producer Ovintiv OVV.N up 2.2% at $47.11 premarket

** OVV said late on Tuesday it will sell its Anadarko assets in Oklahoma to an undisclosed buyer for $3 billion

** Sale includes roughly 360,000 net acres, representing substantially all of OVV's acreage in Anadarko

** Deal is expected to close early in second quarter of 2026

** Brokerage Siebert Williams says OVV is well positioned to reduce debt, and expects the company to deliver on this plan more effectively than its peers

** In 2025, OVV shares were down 3.2%
