May 27 (Reuters) - Bank of Nova Scotia BNS.TO reported a rise in second-quarter profit on Wednesday, as the Canadian lender was helped by strong revenue from its trading desks amid a volatile market.

The bank reported a net income of C$2.63 billion, or C$2 per share, in the three months ended April 30, compared with C$2.03 billion, or C$1.48 per share, in the year-ago period.
