.

- Basis bids for soybeans and corn shipped by barge to U.S. Gulf Coast export terminals were steady to weaker on Friday, traders said, as futures prices declined.

  • Traders said there was talk in the market of Chinese pricing for U.S. soybeans. They have waited for fresh Chinese demand following the meeting of the two countries' presidents in Beijing this month.

  • Export demand for U.S. soybeans has been generally muted as newly harvested South American supplies were cheaper, traders said.

  • Exporters sold 192,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to unknown destinations, including 60,000 metric tons for 2025/26 delivery and 132,000 metric tons for 2026/27, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its daily reporting system.

  • USDA separately reported U.S. soybean export sales were 299,900 metric tons for 2025/26 in the week that ended on May 21, within analysts' estimates of 150,000 to 400,000 metric tons. Weekly U.S. soybean export sales were 137,700 metric tons for 2026/27, compared to analysts' expectations of zero to 300,000 metric tons.

  • Weekly U.S. corn export sales were 1 million metric tons for 2025/26 and 618,600 metric tons for 2026/27, USDA said. Analysts expected 900,000 to 2 million metric tons for 2025/26 and 300,000 to 500,000 metric tons for 2026/27.
