Cimpress Executive VP & CFO Sean Quinn Sells 44% Of Holding
Cimpress Plc CMPR | 0.00 |
Some Cimpress plc (NASDAQ:CMPR) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Executive VP & CFO, Sean Quinn, recently sold a substantial US$2.4m worth of stock at a price of US$105 per share. That's a big disposal, and it decreased their holding size by 44%, which is notable but not too bad.
Cimpress Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In fact, the recent sale by Sean Quinn was the biggest sale of Cimpress shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$98.56. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign.
Over the last year we saw more insider selling of Cimpress shares, than buying. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It's great to see that Cimpress insiders own 16% of the company, worth about US$381m. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
So What Do The Cimpress Insider Transactions Indicate?
Insiders sold Cimpress shares recently, but they didn't buy any. And our longer term analysis of insider transactions didn't bring confidence, either. The company boasts high insider ownership, but we're a little hesitant, given the history of share sales.
