Engie Brasil approves share offering
SAO PAULO, June 10 (Reuters) - Power company Engie Brasil EGIE3.SA said on Wednesday that its board had approved a public offering of new shares, according to a securities filing.
Its controlling shareholder, an entity indirectly owned by France's Engie ENGIE.PA, may participate in the offering by transferring to the Brazilian unit a 40% stake in the Jirau hydroelectric plant valued at 5.74 billion reais ($1.1 billion), the filing said.
The offering still requires approval from Engie Brasil shareholders, it added.
