Fed's Cook says she's watching inflation expectations closely

- Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Wednesday said she is "very attuned" to inflation expectations and the potential that the anticipation by companies and workers that prices will rise could push up on already above-target inflation.

"What you don't want to see is inflation expectations getting incorporated into decisions of firms and into the wage behavior of workers, so I'm watching that very carefully," Cook said at an event at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. She said she is also watching the price of oil carefully, saying it would be "problematic" if it resumes increasing.
