Fed's Warsh met with inspector general on building renovations, expects report this summer
June 17 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh on Wednesday said he had met with the central bank's inspector general, who told Warsh to expect a report to be issued this summer on the cost overruns from an ongoing building renovation project at the Fed's Washington headquarters complex.
The project became a highly political issue after the Trump administration opened a criminal probe of Warsh's predecessor Jerome Powell over the matter. The probe has been dropped but is the key reason why Powell has remained at the Fed as a governor after his leadership term expired in May.
