Those following along with Northpointe Bancshares, Inc. (NYSE:NPB) will no doubt be intrigued by the recent purchase of shares by Charles Williams, Founder of the company, who spent a stonking US$1.3m on stock at an average price of US$16.95. There's no denying a buy of that magnitude suggests conviction in a brighter future, although we do note that proportionally it only increased their holding by 2.5%.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Northpointe Bancshares

Notably, that recent purchase by Charles Williams is the biggest insider purchase of Northpointe Bancshares shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of US$17.11. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.

Happily, we note that in the last year insiders paid US$2.8m for 166.97k shares. On the other hand they divested 169.06k shares, for US$3.0m. Over the last year we saw more insider selling of Northpointe Bancshares shares, than buying.
