We'd be surprised if Local Bounti Corporation (NYSE:LOCL) shareholders haven't noticed that the CEO, President & Director, Kathleen Valiasek, recently sold US$154k worth of stock at US$1.30 per share. The eyebrow raising move amounted to a reduction of 13% in their holding.

Local Bounti Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by CEO, President & Director Kathleen Valiasek was not their only sale of Local Bounti shares this year. Earlier in the year, they fetched US$1.16 per share in a -US$232k sale. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of US$1.27, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. We note that the biggest single sale was only 23% of Kathleen Valiasek's holding.
