MILAN, May 27 (Reuters) - ContourGlobal, a clean energy company owned by KKR KKR.N, on Wednesday announced the start of operations at a large-scale solar-plus-storage project in Chile.

• The facility combines photovoltaic generation with a battery energy storage system capable of delivering 200 megawatts of solar power for up to 6.5 hours after sunset.

• It is one of the longest-duration battery energy storage systems at utility scale globally and the longest in Latin America.

• The project reflects growing demand for long-duration storage to support dispatchable renewable energy.
