Lula says Brazil has seen no reciprocity from US in tariff negotiations

- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Wednesday that Brazil remains open to negotiations with the United States, but has yet to see a reciprocal willingness to engage.

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump imposed a 25% tariff on a range of Brazilian products effective Wednesday, citing what it described as unfair trade practices by Brazil.

Lula said there is no ban on negotiations with the U.S., but that Brazil will seek alternative markets for products it is unable to sell there.
