NORDIC POWER-Front-quarter prices headed for weekly loss on wet weather forecasts
June 5 (Reuters) - Nordic front-quarter prices fell on Friday and were headed for a weekly loss on forecasts of wetter weather conditions in the hydropower-reliant region.
* The Nordic front-quarter baseload power contract NSBLQc1 was down €2.4, or 4%, at €56.35 per megawatt hour (MWh) at 1111 GMT. The contract is down 3.6% so far this week.
* The Nordic front-year power contract NSBLYc1 lost €0.55, or 1%, to €49.7 per MWh.
* "We consider further price falls as the most likely scenario today as the wet outlook is prolonged," Mind Energy analysts said in a note.
* Nordic water reserves PCAEC00 were at 18.73 terawatt hours (TWh) below normal, compared with 20.28 TWh below normal on Thursday.
* LSEG meteorologist George Muller said that weather was expected to be "unsettled and rather wet until the end of the next week, but potentially drier and warmer in the second half of June".
* Power prices for Germany's year-ahead contract TRDEBYc1, Europe's benchmark, fell €0.35, or 0.4%, to €94.35 per megawatt hour (MWh).
* Carbon front-year allowances CFI2Zc1 gains €0.29, or 0.4%, to €77.36 a ton.
* Benchmark Dutch and British wholesale gas prices were largely flat on Friday morning on stable demand and slightly higher liquefied natural gas (LNG) send-out, while the market was still waiting for developments with a U.S.-Iran peace deal after Hezbollah militia rejected a new ceasefire in Lebanon.NG/EU
