Rubio's remarks on Lula were unacceptable, says Brazil's foreign minister
BRASILIA, July 16 (Reuters) - Brazil's Foreign Affairs Minister Mauro Vieira said on Thursday that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's remarks about President Luiz Inacio Lula overnight were unacceptable and offensive to the Brazilian government and people.
After Washington announced a new 25% tariff on many imports from Brazil on Wednesday, Rubio blamed the Brazilian leader for the measure and said that Lula and his government had not negotiated with the U.S. in good faith.
