MARACAIBO, July 1 (Reuters) - A second worker has died of a total of 17 people injured in a rig explosion in Venezuela earlier this week, three sources with knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.

The accident happened at state-run PDVSA's Colven 02 rig in Apure state. Most workers were taken to nearby hospitals in Venezuela and Colombia.

PDVSA did not reply to a request for comment.
