Thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology is selling its Automation Engineering business unit to Munich-based Agile Robots SE. The agreement marks a step in Thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology's ongoing transformation, as it focuses its portfolio on core areas such as Chassis, Components, Aftermarket, and Forging. The Automation Engineering business will operate under the new name "Krause Automation" within Agile Robots, honoring the company's heritage dating back to 1950. Both companies highlighted the complementary strengths that Automation Engineering's plant construction expertise and Agile Robots' robotics and software capabilities will bring to the market. Employee representatives are involved in the integration process through a previously agreed "Best and Fair Owner" arrangement with IG Metall. The transaction is expected to be completed in the coming months.
