- Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.6%.

* THAMES WATER: A group of senior creditors to Thames Water said it remains in active discussions with regulators and is willing to provide new capital needed to deliver the struggling water utility's turnaround.

* COMPASS GROUP: Compass Group CPG.L reported third-quarter organic revenue growth of 7.1%, as strong demand for workplace dining helped it offset rising energy.

* MITIE: Mitie MTO.L has agreed to be acquired by rival OCS Group International for about £3.1 billion.

* STHREE: SThree STEMS.L reported a 75% like-for-like fall in half-year pretax profit, hurt by prolonged weak hiring in its major markets, Germany and the Netherlands.

* IQE: IQE IQE.L raised its full-year revenue growth forecast after its first-half trading beat expectations.

* EMPLOYMENT: British annual wage growth, excluding bonuses, held at 3.4% in the three months to May.

* BORROWING: Britain's government borrowed £16 billion ($21.51 billion) in June, a third less than in the same month last year.

* ELECTRICITY BILLS: The government of new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham will cut taxes on electricity bills, Downing Street said in a statement.

* DIAGEO: Diageo's DGE.L chair John Manzoni is searching for new board directors with commercial experience in the drinks or drinks distribution sectors, the Financial Times reported.

* LSEG: The London Stock Exchange LSEG.L has unveiled plans to launch a night-time trading venue in the first half of 2027, the Financial Times reported.

* IP GROUP: IP Group L> unanimously rejected a sweetened 71.3 pence-per-share takeover proposal from Railpen.

* BT GROUP: A £167 million stake in Britain's BT Group BT.L was offered for sale via an accelerated bookbuild, a bookrunner said.

* COMMODITIES: Oil prices fell on U.S.-Iran mediation hopes, gold rose on safe-haven demand, while copper gainedon supply tightness and Chinese buying.
