- China's Zhongji Innolight Co 3308.HK 300308.SZ is looking to raise up to HK$55.05 billion ($7.02 billion) in its Hong Kong listing, an exchange filing on Wednesday showed.

The Shenzhen-listed company is offering 54.5 million H shares at a maximum price of HK$1,010 apiece.

Zhongji manufactures optical transceivers, which are small devices that facilitate the transmission of large amounts of data through fibre-optic cables, and are utilised in data centres, cloud networks, and AI computing systems.

This will be Hong Kong's largest share sale in nearly seven years since Alibaba Group's 9988.HK $12.9 billion listing in 2019, and comes as Chinese technology companies seek funding to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure, as they race with the U.S. to build faster data centres and computing networks.

Proceeds from the listing will be used for research and development, global production expansion and enhancement of supply-chain capabilities, among others, the company's prospectus said.

Zhongji is expected to announce the final offer price by July 29, with shares slated to debut the following day.

Goldman Sachs GS.N, CICC 601995.SS, Morgan Stanley MS.N and GF Securities 000776.SZ are joint sponsors of the deal.

Meanwhile, cornerstone investors include Singapore state investor Temasek, BlackRock BLK.N, Alibaba, Tencent 0700.HK and U.S.-based private equity firm Bain Capital.
