US wants permanent daylight saving time, seeks to remove some bicycle lanes

- U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy wants Congress to make daylight saving time permanent, deprioritize bicycle lanes and mass transit, cut funding for electric vehicle charging stations and speed adoption of self-driving cars.

Duffy in a letter to Congress seen by Reuters Thursday also called on Congress to provide New York Penn Station with another $1 billion for its reconstruction and to direct Amtrak to rename Penn Station. Reuters reported in February the Trump administration offered to unfreeze some transportation funds if Senator Chuck Schumer agreed to support renaming Penn Station after President Donald Trump.
