May 26 (Reuters) - Viridian Therapeutics VRDN.O said on Tuesday it has signed a manufacturing agreement with WuXi Biologics to support commercial supply of its experimental drug if approved.
WuXi Biologics will make and supply both the drug substance and final product for veligrotug, Viridian's treatment for thyroid eye disease, a condition that causes eye swelling and vision problems.
The agreement makes WuXi Biologics a non-exclusive supplier, allowing Viridian Therapeutics to source the drug from other manufacturers as well.
Viridian Therapeutics said it will provide monthly forecasts of demand, with part of those orders treated as firm and non-cancellable commitments.
The company added that pricing under the deal will depend on volumes, with service fees fixed through the end of 2026 and subject to annual adjustments afterward.
Viridian said it will also cover certain additional costs incurred by WuXi Biologics during manufacturing.
The initial term of the agreement is five years, and Viridian Therapeutics said it will automatically renew for further five-year periods unless either party opts out in advance.
Viridian noted it can terminate the deal if legal changes affect WuXi Biologics' ability to perform services, while either side can also exit in case of breach or financial distress.
The company said the agreement includes standard terms on product quality, deliveries, regulatory compliance and dispute handling.
