MOSCOW, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Saudi oil producer Aramco cut its official selling prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for October by 3.1 percent to 4.8 percent, while Algeria's Sonatrach raised them by 4.4 percent to 9.4 percent due to higher demand, traders said.
Saudi Aramco's official selling prices for October fell $25 to $495 per ton of propane and $15 to $475 per ton of butane.
Propane and butane are two types of LPG with different boiling points.
LPG is primarily used as a fuel for vehicles, heating, and as a raw material in other petrochemical industries.
Sonatrach raised the official selling price of LPG for October for propane by $20 per ton to 470 and for butane by $40 per ton to 465.
Aramco's official selling prices for LPG are used as a reference for its supply contracts from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region.
In contrast, Sonatrach's official LPG selling prices are used as a benchmark for the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions, including Türkiye.
