AI startup Anaconda raises $150 million in funding round
July 31 (Reuters) - Anaconda, a leading open-source Python software company for data science and artificial intelligence, has raised more than $150 million in a Series C funding round led by Insight Partners, with additional participation from Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Capital.
Bloomberg reported, citing a source familiar with the matter, that the funding round raises the startup's value to $1.5 billion.
The company said Thursday that the new capital will support product development, potential acquisitions, and international expansion, in addition to providing liquidity to employees.
This funding comes amid growing competition in the enterprise AI software sector, with Python continuing to dominate as the preferred programming language for AI development.
The company seeks to capitalize on the growing enterprise demand for open source tools as organizations shift from isolated data science projects to broader AI applications.
The funding comes after Anaconda launched a new AI platform and partnered with DataBricks.
