PRESSR: Launch of Sustainable City 2.0 at the Annual Investment Meeting 2025
Abu Dhabi : C Holding Group, the world’s leading developer of sustainable communities and owner of the pioneering and well-known “Sustainable City” model, announced the launch of an advanced version of its future city under the title “Sustainable City 2.0 ( TSC 2.0 )”, during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress) in Abu Dhabi, thus launching a new era of smart cities driven by artificial intelligence, emission neutral, and designed around the well-being and quality of life of residents .
A decade after launching a new global standard in sustainable urban planning, C Holdings is back to redefine the cities of the future—this time with a city capable of thinking, adapting, and constantly evolving. "Sustainable City 2.0" integrates artificial intelligence into its urban fabric, creating a resilient, adaptable, and future-ready environment .
At the heart of this futuristic city, smart systems will enhance environmental sustainability and elevate food security standards through vertical farming and precision agriculture. These technologies, based on monitoring and automation, will maximize agricultural production with minimal resources. The city will draw its energy from a diverse mix of solar, biogas, wind, and innovative micro-hydroelectric systems, while smart grids continuously balance supply and demand to maintain net-zero emissions. Furthermore, the new city will conserve water throughout its boundaries using cutting-edge technologies that utilize every drop before reuse, detect leaks instantly, optimize irrigation, and even generate water from the air.
In this AI-powered city, waste will become a valuable resource, reused, recycled, or converted into usable energy instead of being sent to landfills. This effectively supports the move towards a circular and resilient economy. The city will also enjoy a cooler indoor climate thanks to smart design elements, including wind turbines that circulate cool air throughout public spaces. Transportation will be fully electric and autonomous, featuring shared electric cars and bikes, self-driving buses, and every home equipped with advanced delivery technology. Robots will handle deliveries seamlessly, eliminating human intervention, while drones will be deployed on landing platforms.
The new city will be more than just a smart city; it will boast all the features that make it a city thoughtfully designed to serve its residents. Its neighborhoods will be pedestrian-friendly and surrounded by natural green spaces. It will offer a healthy infrastructure including motion-activated running tracks, solar-heated swimming pools, and energy-efficient gyms. It will also provide a comprehensive and interactive learning environment focused on the future, featuring next-generation classrooms and futuristic labs that transform ideas into reality. Furthermore, healthcare will be proactive, supported by digital systems that monitor and track residents' health, enabling early intervention and rapid response to any condition. Every element and concept within the city has been designed to give residents more time and ensure a better quality of life within a sustainable and future-oriented community .
Engineer Fares Saeed, Chairman and CEO of C Holding, said: “Our new city is not an imaginary vision of a distant future, but rather a realistic model that we are building today based on artificial intelligence technologies, achieving net-zero emissions, and specifically designed to meet human needs. Today, we are investing years of accumulated experience and successive successes in building sustainable and pioneering communities, and we are presenting a revolutionary urban model carefully designed to meet the aspirations of future generations. Sustainable City 2.0 represents the culmination of our pioneering experiences, supported by the power and effectiveness of smart systems, and based on one fundamental goal: that humanity remains at the heart of development, in a world accelerating towards the future and shaped by artificial intelligence algorithms .”
For over 10 years, the Sustainable City model has set a global standard and a unique business model for the cities of the future. Since its inception, The Sustainable City – Dubai has achieved remarkable environmental and economic results, including a significant 78% reduction in carbon emissions and diverting 89% of waste from landfills. Furthermore, the first iteration of The Sustainable City gained recognition as the "happiest community in the GCC," and its model has since expanded to Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi (Yas Island), and Yiti in Oman .
The Annual Investment Conference 2025 will be held over three days from April 7 to 9, and participants will have an exceptional opportunity to experience this innovative model and discover its features firsthand through an exciting interactive presentation highlighting the model of smart and resilient future cities .
