Doha – Mubasher: Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Labor, and Khalid bin Salem Al Ghumari, Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Labor for Labor Affairs, inaugurated the Omani-Qatari Joint Labor Office in Doha.

The opening of the office aims to enhance cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, support the achievement of shared goals in developing the work environment in both countries, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and procedures for utilizing human resources, according to a statement issued by the Qatari Ministry of Labor on Wednesday.

The Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Labor affirmed that the opening of the Joint Labor Office embodies an extension of the distinguished bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, which have witnessed remarkable development in recent years across various fields, particularly in the labor sector.

Najwa Al Thani noted that the two countries' Ministries of Labor have worked to enhance technical cooperation and exchange expertise in the areas of labor market management and regulation, in addition to developing policies and legislation that protect workers' rights and support the interests of employers.

She also explained that the establishment of the office represents a pioneering practical step that reflects both sides' commitment to providing employment opportunities and a decent work environment for our brothers from the Sultanate of Oman. It also embodies both countries' commitment to facilitating suitable job opportunities for them, providing the necessary support to monitor their labor affairs, listening to their issues, and working to resolve them with complete transparency and speed.

Al Thani noted that this joint project comes within the framework of enhancing institutional coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries, achieving a balance between the interests of workers and employers, and contributing to the smooth regulation of the movement of the workforce, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in the State of Qatar.

For his part, Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor in the Sultanate of Oman, affirmed that the agreement also includes the launch of joint training programs to qualify Qatari competencies in the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting the depth of fraternal and professional relations between the two brotherly countries. He indicated that communication with the Qatari side will be ongoing to implement the planned employment and training initiatives.

Ali Abdullah Al-Aysari, Executive Director of the Joint Office, noted that the office aspires to be a true link between Omani talent and the Qatari labor market, contributing to enhancing quality employment and fulfilling the aspirations of Omani youth. He emphasized that work is underway in parallel to launch qualitative initiatives to train and qualify Qatari cadres in the Sultanate of Oman, leveraging its extensive expertise in technical and vocational training.
