Al Ahly seeks to rectify its mistakes, while Zamalek relies on its character in the Super Cup final.

- Al Ahly coach Yes Torop said his team is working to address its mistakes ahead of facing Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup final on Sunday.

Al Ahly beat Ceramica Cleopatra 2-1 in the semi-final on Thursday, while Zamalek won on penalties against Pyramids, setting up a repeat of last year's final at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE.

Al Ahly won the title in the previous edition after defeating Zamalek on penalties.

Torop told a press conference on Saturday, "Although the defense has improved, we are still making mistakes, and that's what happened against Ceramica Cleopatra."

"We need to reduce defensive errors to keep a clean sheet and be able to win the title."

The Danish coach hopes to gain the trust of Al-Ahly fans, the reigning Premier League champions, after replacing coach Jose Ribeiro, who left due to poor results at the start of the season, before Emad El-Nahhas took over coaching the team temporarily.

Torop understands the importance of winning the title against Al-Ahly's "traditional rival," stressing that he knows the fans' desire to defeat Zamalek.

He added, "We came to the UAE to win the title, not just to participate. Al Ahly is ready to win the championship thanks to the experience of its players, its history, and its capabilities."

"I know that Al Ahly fans everywhere are looking forward to winning the Super Cup against their traditional rival. I take this into account and I will work to achieve it."

Torop praised striker Nits Gradishar, who scored a goal against Ceramica Cleopatra, and confirmed that Imam Ashour will return to play soon after recovering from a viral infection.

For his part, Zamalek coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf said that he is counting on the character of his players, which will be present against Al-Ahly.

Abdel Raouf, the team's former midfielder, is temporarily leading Zamalek's training after the club parted ways with coach Yannick Ferreira.

Abdel Raouf told reporters, "Facing Al Ahly has its own special character and historical respect, given the pressure from the fans and the injuries we are suffering from."

"Zamalek's lineup is up to the task... and the players' character will be present in the match."

Zamalek returned to winning ways in the league under Abdel Raouf’s leadership by defeating Tala’ea El Gaish, after the team had gone four games without a win, including a 2-1 loss to Al Ahly.

Abdel Raouf said, "We were keen to be the second team in the final. After facing Pyramids, we will face Al Ahly and work to show the character of Zamalek."

"Our presence in the final is an integral part of the club's identity, and God willing, we will be the team most deserving of the title."

He added, "My message to Zamalek fans is that we are well aware of the circumstances we are going through. We faced difficulties against two big teams like Pyramids and Al Ahly."
