Al-Jouf signs an agreement with a Korean company to transfer potato seed production technology to the Kingdom

Riyadh - Mubasher: Al Jouf Agricultural Company (Al Jouf) announced signing a partnership agreement with the Korean company Global Green (EGG) to establish a partnership between the two companies in producing high-quality potato seeds using the latest advanced technologies around the world.

The company explained, in a statement on "Tadawul", today, Tuesday, that the agreement includes establishing a specialized laboratory with high technical specifications at the headquarters of Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Company in the Al-Basita area in the Al-Jouf region to produce potato seeds.

She pointed out that the agreement includes investing in the Korean company EGG through convertible bonds into equity, amounting to 15 million riyals.

She also noted that local production is expected to start during the second quarter of 2026, and the financial impact will be announced later.

On January 23, 2024, Al Jouf Agricultural Development Company announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Korean company Global Green EGG to transfer the technology of potato seed production and produce it locally in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
