Cairo - Mubasher: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said on Monday: "I appreciate the wonderful and supportive role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the circumstances the region is going through."

Sisi's statements came during the opening of the 8th Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition "EGYPS 2025".

Sisi said: "I highly appreciate the Saudi energy minister's speech in light of the relations between the two countries."

He continued: We strive in Egypt for construction, development and reconstruction.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ministries of Petroleum, Mineral Resources, Electricity and Renewable Energy, and the Saudi Ministry of Energy to develop an executive plan for cooperation in the field of energy efficiency between Egypt and the Kingdom.

The agreement was signed on the Egyptian side by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and on the Saudi side by His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This partnership between Egypt and the Kingdom aims to cooperate in establishing a national program to improve energy efficiency in Egypt.

The two sides will work together to prepare and implement the program, through exchanging expertise and providing technical support from the Saudi side, and cooperating in developing a working methodology to determine the mechanisms and plans necessary to achieve the goals of improving energy efficiency at the national level in Egypt.

Under this partnership, knowledge will be exchanged and technical support will be provided in the field of improving energy efficiency in Egypt. This includes preparing technical specifications and standards, mechanisms that ensure the implementation of energy efficiency regulations and standards, building human capacities through training programs and workshops, mechanisms for developing energy service companies and the infrastructure needed to improve energy efficiency improvement projects, and facilitating financing and investment mechanisms in these projects.

The establishment of a joint entity specialized in establishing and developing renewable energy efficiency projects in Egypt will also be studied in cooperation with the Saudi Tarsheed Foundation.

The two sides agreed to form a joint mechanism to supervise implementation, determine targets and performance indicators to follow up on the implementation of the plan, and form technical teams responsible for each work stream.
