SFDA signs MoU with China's National Medical Products Administration

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to exchange expertise and regulatory information with the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in the People's Republic of China, at the latter's headquarters in the capital, Beijing.

The Authority was represented at the signing ceremony by its CEO, Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhei, while the National Medical Products Administration of China was represented by Commissioner Li Li, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to China, Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) today, Friday.

The memorandum includes areas of cooperation and exchange of information and regulatory expertise on laws and regulations related to medicines, medical devices and cosmetics.

Through signing memoranda of understanding with various entities at the regional and global levels, the Authority aims to enhance its international leadership through joint work with counterpart entities.

This memorandum comes as part of the visit of the CEO of the General Authority for Food and Drug to China, to meet with counterparts and head the Authority’s delegation participating in the eighth session of the Shenzhen Food Safety Forum, which will be held during the period from 5-6 November 2024 in the city of Shenzhen.
