Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has granted the first two licenses for yacht charter companies in 2025. These licenses are for Hasco Marine Works and Dream Hotels and Marinas Tourism Company. This comes as part of the authority's mandate to regulate coastal tourism and improve services provided to beneficiaries, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the authority explained that it is accelerating its efforts to regulate the coastal tourism sector and create an attractive environment for tourists, investors, and coastal tourism practitioners. This is in line with its duties and roles, which include issuing licenses and permits, setting controls, rules, and standards for tourist marinas, and encouraging and attracting investment in coastal tourism activities.

The Authority grants yacht rental licenses to companies after ensuring that applicants meet all regulatory requirements for issuing the license, most notably: compliance with all Authority requirements and requirements, that the rented yachts are seaworthy and adhere to the highest local and international safety, security, and environmental standards, and compliance with all applicable regulations in the Kingdom.

The new licenses issued by the authority will significantly contribute to regulating coastal tourism activities, expanding the provision of diverse tourism services, attracting more investment, increasing the flow of tourists to the Kingdom, fostering yachting activity, creating new job opportunities in the Red Sea sector, and providing exceptional tourism experiences for visitors.

With the granting of these two licenses, the total number of licenses issued to date for rental companies in the Kingdom has risen to five. This comes as part of the Authority's efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to tourists and visitors, and to preserve and sustain the marine environment.

Last August, the Saudi Red Sea Authority announced the issuance of the Saudi Yachts Regulations, the first of its kind in the Kingdom. The regulations aim to establish regulatory frameworks for Saudi yachts within the geographical area, regulate their activities, specify the necessary requirements, and issue tourism and entertainment licenses and permits.
