UAE's non-oil trade exceeds AED 2 trillion in 9 months

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The UAE's non-oil foreign trade exceeded AED 2.03 trillion in the first 9 months of 2024, achieving a growth of 15% compared to the same period in 2023.
Foreign trade witnessed a strong performance during the third quarter of 2024, as the value of trade in July reached 240.1 billion dirhams, in August 236.6 billion dirhams, and in September 240.4 billion dirhams, bringing the total non-oil foreign trade in the third quarter to 717.1 billion dirhams, according to Al Khaleej newspaper.
The value of non-oil foreign trade during this period is the highest compared to every year from 2010 to 2021. Gold topped the list of the highest value goods in foreign trade, amounting to 481 billion dirhams, representing 24% of total trade, followed by telephones, which amounted to 192.7 billion dirhams .
At the level of trade partners, China topped the list of the UAE’s trade partners during the first 9 months of 2024, with trade valued at AED 231.1 billion, representing 11.4% of total foreign trade, followed by India with 8.5%.
Saudi Arabia came as the UAE's largest trading partner among Arab countries, and third globally, with trade amounting to 11 billion dirhams .
In terms of regions, the group of non-Arab Asian countries topped the list of partners, as their trade with the UAE amounted to 880.4 billion dirhams, followed by the countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference with 786.3 billion dirhams, then the ESCWA countries with 436 billion dirhams.
The European countries group came in fourth place with 316.9 billion dirhams, followed by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries group with 244.1 billion dirhams, and finally the Arab countries group (excluding the Gulf Cooperation Council countries) with 197 billion dirhams .
