PRESSR: Hamad Bin Khalifa University holds its open meeting for graduate students
Doha: Hamad Bin Khalifa University has invited qualified students in the State of Qatar and around the world to attend the online open meeting for graduate students, giving them the opportunity to explore a range of interdisciplinary academic programs, coinciding with the opening of applications for the academic year 2024/2025.
The open house was held on November 22, 2023, where more than 750 students had the opportunity to learn about 40 graduate degree programs offered by HBKU’s six colleges, where they heard directly from college deans and faculty about how students benefit from studying in a Integrated and advanced educational and research facilities provided by the university.
Dr. Michael Benedek, Vice Dean of Hamad Bin Khalifa University, delivered a welcome speech, during which he emphasized the university’s pioneering role in promoting innovation and research in multiple fields of education, and addressing the major challenges facing the State of Qatar and the world. He explained how the university’s research outputs are directed to focus on five main areas. In sustainability, precision health, artificial intelligence, social progress, and progressive education.
Commenting on the high number of applications for admission to study interdisciplinary programs at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Dr. Bendik said: “Interest in the academic programs offered by the university continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, as successive batches have been larger than the previous ones, stressing that our attraction lies in how we enhance cooperation with... "The world's best scientific minds and institutions and preparing future leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset so they can innovate new solutions to make a positive, global impact."
In addition to meeting and speaking directly with HBKU's world-renowned faculty, eligible students also heard guidance from the university's Registration Office staff, who provided information on the general requirements for admission to the university, as well as merit-based scholarships, scholarship options, Financial scholarships are available, and Student Affairs staff also interacted with participants, providing insights into university life at HBKU and Education City.
At the end of the open meeting, the qualified students interacted with HBKU faculty and staff during a live question and answer session, where they expressed their ambitions, ideas, and expectations while studying at the university, and what awaits them in the academic and professional future after completing their studies.
It should be noted that the last date for submitting applications for international students to enroll in master’s and doctoral programs at Hamad Bin Khalifa University for the fall season is February 1, 2024, and for Qataris and residents (who are eligible for funding based on academic merit) is March 14 , 2024, and the last date for accepting applications for admission is at the moment.
