Riyadh – Mubasher: Groq, in collaboration with Meta, announced the launch of its new artificial intelligence (AI) model, Llama 4, from Dammam. This step supports Saudi Arabia's efforts to strengthen its position as a global hub for future technologies, particularly in the field of AI.

The company explained that the launch includes the Llama 4 Scout and Maverick models on the GroqCloud platform, enabling developers in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe to benefit from Meta's high-performance open-source models, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Jonathan Ross, founder and CEO of Groq, said the company aims to reduce the cost of computing and provide high-performance inference capabilities in the region.

For his part, Tariq Amin, CEO of Aramco Digital, described this collaboration as a significant step forward in Saudi Arabia's journey towards technological leadership.

The announcement follows the launch of the world's largest inference cluster in Dammam last February. At the LEAP 2025 conference, Groq announced a $1.5 billion investment to establish the world's largest AI inference center, in collaboration with Aramco Digital.
