The UAE will rank first in the world in attracting wealthy individuals by 2025, with 6,700 millionaires moving there from around the world, including at least 1,000 Britons, according to a report titled "Wealth Migration Dashboard" issued by Henley & Partners .

The report explained that the main reason the UAE is the preferred destination for millionaires, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is that it enjoys an attractive living and business environment .

According to the report, the United Kingdom witnessed an unprecedented wave of wealthy emigration in 2024, with one millionaire leaving the country every 45 minutes, bringing the total number of millionaires leaving the country to 10,800, a 157% increase compared to 2023 .

The report indicated that the migration of wealthy individuals from the United Kingdom witnessed a significant increase, making it the country with the largest loss of wealthy individuals in the world over the past year, excluding China .

In this context, British businessman Stephen Bartlett said that many millionaires are moving to the UAE due to its fast-paced business environment and rapid growth, at a time when the United Kingdom is experiencing a massive wave of wealthy emigration .

Meanwhile, the UK faces new economic challenges with the UK Labour Party's plans to abolish non-resident status in April 2025 and replace it with a new tax system targeting non-resident income outside the UK .

These changes point to further migration of the wealthy in the future, as the amendments were not sufficient to stop their flow out of the country .

Looking ahead to 2025, reports indicate that the number of individuals leaving various countries due to high economic and tax conditions will increase, with 142,000 high-net-worth individuals expected to emigrate .

The UAE is a successful model for wealth migration thanks to progressive policies, such as golden visas, as well as its investments in modern infrastructure and embrace of innovation, making it a prime destination for wealthy individuals seeking new opportunities and greater economic and political stability .
