Ceramica Cleopatra signs Al-Ahly full-backs Abdel Fattah and El-Dabbas
July 13 (Reuters Arabic) - Egyptian Premier League club Ceramica Cleopatra announced on Sunday the signing of Karim El-Deebs and Khaled Abdel Fattah from league champions Al Ahly.
The club posted on its X account, "A new star is shining in the sky of Ceramica Cleopatra. Welcome with us the team's newest signing, Khaled Abdel Fattah."
He added in another post, "He plays on the left flank, both defensively and offensively... Karim El-Dabbas joins Ceramica Cleopatra."
Ceramica also thanked left-back Mohamed Shoukry, saying, "Flying full-back Mohamed Shoukry... thank you for everything you've done for the team, and we wish you the best in your next step."
Press reports indicated the possibility of Shukry (26 years old) returning to the ranks of Al-Ahly Club, whose colors he wore during the youth stage, in light of the Egyptian champion’s desire to strengthen the left-back position after the departure of its veteran player Ali Maaloul.
The duo, Abdel Fattah and El-Dabbas, left Al-Ahly, the defending Egyptian league champions, in search of more playing time.
Al-Dibs (22 years old) participated with Al-Ahly in 35 matches, during which he did not score any goals and provided five assists since joining the team from Wadi Degla.
He also won three local league titles with the club, in addition to the African Champions League title, the Egypt Cup title, and the Africa, Asia, and Pacific Cup title.
While Abdel Fattah (26 years old) played 55 matches, did not score any goals, and provided three assists since joining the team from Smouha.
He won three local league titles with the club, in addition to two CAF Champions League titles, two Egypt Cup titles, and two Egyptian Super Cup titles.
Ceramica finished the last season's Egyptian Premier League season in sixth place in the championship group with 37 points, but won the Egyptian League Cup last June after defeating Al-Ahly Bank 2-0 in the final.
Ceramica has secured its participation in the Egyptian Super Cup alongside Egyptian Premier League champions Al Ahly, Egypt Cup champions Zamalek, and another team that will participate with an invitation.
