PRESSR: Cisco and Real Madrid expand their partnership to redefine sports innovation using AI and connectivity.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Real Madrid and Cisco, the global leader in networking and security, today announced a multi-year extension of their global partnership, reaffirming Cisco's position as the club's official technology partner. Under the agreement, Cisco will provide its advanced technologies at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu stadium, as well as implement significant technological enhancements at Real Madrid City, the club's official training complex.
This partnership represents the next phase of Cisco's strategic collaboration with Real Madrid, setting new standards in connected sports experiences and operational excellence.
In 2024, the two parties implemented a comprehensive digital transformation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, making it one of the most technologically advanced sports stadiums in the world. Cisco delivered the first software-defined access network (SDN) in a European sports stadium, providing secure, segmented connectivity throughout the stadium. Cisco's cloud-based IP Fabric for Media solution enables efficient content production and distribution to more than 2,500 screens throughout the stadium, supporting global broadcasts to millions of fans. Cisco's cybersecurity and monitoring platforms continue to ensure seamless operations, protect against threats, and provide a comprehensive view of Real Madrid's digital footprint.
As part of this expanded partnership, Cisco will upgrade Real Madrid City, the club's official training home, with the latest digital infrastructure technologies. This includes the construction of a new AI-enabled data center designed to handle traditional and next-generation workloads, while improving energy efficiency and operational flexibility. The training center will also be equipped with Cisco Wi-Fi 7, enabling ultra-fast wireless connectivity with faster response times for fans and staff.
In addition, Cisco will deploy a robust 100 Gbps network infrastructure, connecting Real Madrid City to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
This connection, supported by Cisco's application-centric architecture, will provide secure and seamless connectivity between the two sites, enabling centralized control and real-time coordination across Real Madrid's operations.
Real Madrid City is now a real-time digital control center capable of remotely managing all connected devices within the stadium. Thanks to enhanced automation, artificial intelligence, and enhanced visibility powered by Cisco technologies, the club is able to optimize its operations and enrich the experience for fans and athletes alike.
The collaboration between Cisco and Real Madrid began in 2022 with the goal of transforming the club's infrastructure into a model of innovation and digital performance. Since then, Cisco's role has expanded to encompass all aspects of Real Madrid's connected ecosystem, from stadium connectivity and media distribution to cybersecurity and smart facility management.
By expanding their partnership, Cisco and Real Madrid are helping shape the future of sports through technology. The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and Real Madrid City represent global models of what can be achieved when innovation and rich tradition come together.
