Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Teledyne FLIR Defense , a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY ), announced the appointment of Tarek Suleiman as General Manager for the Middle East and North Africa region. Based in Riyadh, Suleiman will oversee the company’s regional growth strategy, partnerships, and localization initiatives across the defense, industrial, and emerging technology sectors. He will report to Dr. JihFen Lei , President of Teledyne FLIR Defense .

Teledyne Technologies has also secured a license for its regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia and plans to open a new Middle East headquarters in Riyadh by mid-2026. The headquarters will serve as Teledyne ’s operations and innovation hub for the region, enabling close collaboration with government ministries and defense and security agencies across the Gulf. It will also act as a conduit for Teledyne ’s global business units, combining technologies and capabilities from the company’s various defense, maritime, construction, and other sectors to deliver comprehensive, multi-sectoral solutions.

A strong advocate for partnerships between the United States and the Gulf States, he served as Honorary Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, a board member of the Middle East Policy Council in Washington, D.C., and a board member of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Regional Board. Sulaiman holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and graduated summa cum laude from Johnson & Wales University.
