PRESSR: Dubai Chamber of Commerce organizes a workshop on the D33 Industry-Friendly Energy Policy with the participation of 46 representatives from the private sector.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Centre for Responsible Business at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, in collaboration with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, organised a virtual workshop on the D33 Industry-Friendly Energy Policy, attended by 46 participants from the private sector.
The D33 Industrial-Friendly Energy Policy aims to support and accelerate sustainability ambitions and promote a green economy in the emirate, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 . It enables manufacturers, data centers, and agricultural technology companies to install solar energy systems for internal use to generate the energy needed to meet their needs and reduce energy costs, thereby increasing the proportion of clean energy in the energy mix .
The workshop reviewed the technical requirements and eligibility criteria for benefiting from the D33 Industrial-Friendly Energy Policy, which aims to support the industrial sector in reducing business costs, achieving clean energy targets, and contributing to accelerating the decarbonization process and achieving carbon neutrality in Dubai.
This event is part of a series of workshops organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, with the aim of introducing the private sector to the advantages and mechanisms for benefiting from the D33 Industry-Friendly Energy Policy and its role in enabling companies to lead the sustainability journey in targeted sectors.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce's Centre for Responsible Business plays a pivotal role in promoting responsible and sustainable practices in Dubai. It also encourages companies to adopt the best environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability standards, enhancing their performance and competitiveness and enhancing their community and environmental contributions. The Centre also provides a rich set of platforms, tools, and knowledge to help companies integrate governance, sustainability, and social responsibility into various stages and levels of their operations.
Under a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, establishing three chambers under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, which was established in 1965, continues to exercise its role of representing, supporting, and protecting the interests of the business community in Dubai by creating a stimulating business environment in Dubai, supporting business growth, and promoting the emirate as a global business hub.
